SHRIMP ON THE RUN!🍤🏃

SHRIMP ON THE RUN!🍤🏃

In recent years, a video clip of a shrimp sprinting on a treadmill as part of a lab experiment has become the poster child for wasteful medical research on animals. The National Institute of Health annually spends over $12 billion taxpayer dollars on animal testing, which often results in our animal friends of all shapes and sizes suffering from pesticide poisoning, burns, crippling spinal cord injuries and drug-induced addictions. 💉😱 The saddest part? Not only are these practices cruel and painful, but many of them prove to be completely wasteful and ineffective, as animal specimens often fail to fully mimic disease in homo sapiens and thus cannot truly predict how drugs will work on humans - which even the #NIH admits to be a grave problem. We hope this realization inspires them to expedite the development of innovative testing technologies, such as chips that mimic human organs, a pain-free alternative that is predicted to be far more effective than animal testing!
